Caterpillars....and kids......

this particular caterpillar is going to be a Spotted Tussock moth. And W found it in the rocks by our house... she has decided to call it "Cattie". I got her a big jar, we collected some leaves and grass and twigs and Cattie had its new home........... poked some holes in the lid "so cattie doesn't SUFFORCATE mommy" (lmao) i wanted to know what it was gonna turn into now that my lil W wants to bring the thing IN THE HOUSE , not to mention every where else she goes. where she goes, so does the jar full of grass and bug! lol. anyhow i googled "caterpillars" and a huge selection of websites came up. however...one site in particular was just the best informationally (uh, is that even a real word lolol)anyway, it was....

it has hundreds of pictures of different caterpillars, so you can look up what is infesting your yard... way cool!!! i was impressed with this website. i located quickly the exact caterpillar my daughter is housing, and it told me what it would turn into. Neat!!! theres a ton of other information on it too, like how to care for caterpillars... i reccommned this site to any of you parents out there whom have children who like to raise bugs too lol.
